V-MODA Forza Metallo Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

With the headphone jack going the way of the dodo bird, is the V-MODA Forza Metallo one last celebration at everything the 3.5mm headphone jack has brought us even before the Sony Walkman became a thing in 1970s? In many ways, I would say yes. From the moment you hold the box, it strikes you with everything V-MODA has always wanted to. From the moment you open the box, you will experience everything V-MODA has always stood for. And from the moment you hold these earphones, you will wonder why the company is so well received in the audiophile community. Firstly, it comes with every accessory you could have ever wished for in a pair of headphones. V-MODA includes four ear tip sizes to ensure everyone gets a snug fit, sport fins and earhooks to accommodate different lifestyles, and even a sweet leather pouch to keep your set safe and sound during transport in a fashionable manner. Secondly, everything is clearly built with quality in mind. From the tangle-free Kevlar reinforced cord to buttons that have good tactile feedback, the company has you covered. If that is not enough, a two-year warranty and 50% off the price of a replacement for a lifetime definitely is more than what most could ask for. Thirdly, the Forza Metallo is very fashionable. Its contemporary and clean appearance with a detailed fit and finish is a work of art. If you think it still looks too ubiquitous, you can even get your own 3D custom handcrafted caps. But what about its performance? I may not sound overly impressed in the auditioning results on Page 3, but here is what I would say in a nutshell: The V-MODA Forza Metallo is a very capable sounding pair of in-ear monitors that provides excellent sound insulation and a great microphone for your calls. I admit I am totally spoiled by the incredible Zn, but this does not imply the irrelevance of the Forza Metallo. Here is the deal though: For $130 at press time, this product is an interesting proposition. You are paying an extra $30 over the Forza for the metal enclosure, which, in my opinion, is much better looking, but they still sound exactly the same. On the other hand, if you cough up an extra $50, you can get the Zn, which are probably some of the best sounding earphones in the market today. My friends, we may be spoiled for choice, but at least it is a first world problem.
