About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Following up next is our usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is an often-quoted benchmark, because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers and I have grown to embrace it as much as the next for the last little while. By varying the file transfer size, you can visually see how each product performs across the curve. In the Read section, the Western Digital Red WD140EFFX 14TB was good; albeit lagging behind the WD Red 10TB almost across the entire range. The WD140EFFX reached close to peak rate at 4K and above, which was quite quick. Its peak read rate came in at 200.324MB/s, which was behind the WD Red 10TB at 215.335MB/s and IronWolf 12TB at 275.036MB/s. In the Write section, it also reached its peak rate at 4K and above. With a top write speed of 201.831MB/s, this, again, was good, but behind the WD Red 10TB at 218.779MB/s and Seagate IronWolf 12TB at 271.967MB/s. For comparison, the maximum read and write speed for the WD Red Pro 14TB was 278.247MB/s and 280.189MB/s, respectively.
