YUNZII C75 MAO Cake Kitten Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

YUNZII has combined many different elements with the C75 MAO Cake Kitten, and the result is appreciably unique. The name alone gives away the intention of making a keyboard that has both cake and cat elements, but the physical appearance embraces this direction. This includes the cat head shape in the body, cat smiley face on the top, cream-like rubber layer on the sides, and each keycap with small cat ears and random sprinkles or stars printed on top. This continues underneath the keyboard with two rubber risers in the shape of cat paws, a tail underneath, and a half-fish that doubles as the USB receiver hidden under a paw. The cute appearance is also augmented by a capable feature set. The keycaps are doubly printed with dye-sublimated top legends and a translucent front legend with double-shot plastics to reveal the full RGB LED illumination underneath. Other standard features include full N-key rollover, hot-swappable mechanical switches, and wireless operation over the receiver or Bluetooth. In use, the YUNZII C75 MAO Cake Kitten is an absolute joy to type on with its marble-like sound and satisfying feel. The multiple layers work in reducing any less favorable noises or resonance. Its wireless performance is passable with a 5500mAh battery that lasts 33 hours of use on a single charge with all lights on max brightness. Even so, there are still some things to keep in mind with this keyboard. For one, you also must be committed to this unconventional styling. In usage, it is too easy to change between Windows and Mac layouts and there are no adjustable kickstands. The software is not fully polished, and should work over wireless without unexpected consequences. The lighting timeout should also have been configurable. Overall, the YUNZII C75 MAO Cake Kitten is not made for everyone with its bold and unique styling, but it is available to all for under $80. If you are indeed the target audience for the C75 MAO Cake Kitten, then this keyboard should be on your shortlist.
