From DailyTech: If you buy a mobile device powered by Google Inc.'s (GOOG) Android operating system, chances will soon be good that a bit of Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) software inside. That's because Samsung Electronics Comp., Ltd. (KRX:005930) (KRX:005935) -- the world's largest Android OEM -- has inked a deal to preinstall Microsoft's Android Office 365 apps on many of its most coveted devices.
Samsung announced last month that the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge would come with Microsoft Office 365 preinstalled. Today the company filled in extra details about its partnership with Microsoft.
And separately, Microsoft confirmed today that this is just one of nearly a dozen different similar new deals. In its announcement, Microsoft shared that globally ten other OEMs have also signed up for the same commitment.
Customers who buy a device with Office 365 apps for Android preinstalled are eligible for an extra 100 gigabytes in cloud storage.
