From PC Mag: Samsung has lined up a launch event this Thursday. While that event will probably showcase the Galaxy S25 FE and two new tablets, another rumored event later this month is expected to feature some of Samsung's more ambitious projects.
As ZDNET reports, citing multiple news outlets in South Korea, Samsung plans to host an Unpacked event on Sept. 29 to announce its long-awaited trifold phone, "Project Moohan" Android XR glasses, and a pair of AI glasses.
The trifold phone and the XR glasses have been in discussions ever since Samsung teased some early designs at the Mobile World Congress in March. The XR glasses, in particular, seemed like a finished product. Once you put on the headset, you'll be able to watch content, navigate apps, or tap into AI chatbots for assistance.
Samsung hopes it marks "a significant step toward more context-aware and personalized experiences that enhance everyday life in incredibly immersive ways." The headset is expected to cost $2,000 at launch, which is $1,500 less than the Apple Vision Pro it will compete against.
As for the trifold phone, while Samsung didn't reveal the exact design, it teased a bunch of trifold screens at the event. Later in July, the company's mobile head, TM Roh, confirmed it was working on a trifold phone and was planning to release it before the end of this year.
