From PC Mag: You can no longer buy Ayaneo’s upcoming Windows handheld due to the global memory shortage.
Prices for the Ayaneo Next 2, a Steam Deck-like device running Windows 11, were already remarkably high at $1,999 for a 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage version. Now, the brand says rising memory costs have led it to suspend orders for the foreseeable future.
Ayaneo updated customers on its IndieGoGo page, first spotted by Android Authority, to announce the suspension of future preorders. The brand confirmed that the Next 2 would ship to everyone who ordered from Feb. 10 through to the time it was taken off sale.
The gaming brand says costs were already at a “very high level” when it put the product up for preorder, but supplier movements around the Chinese New Year prompted it to pause future orders.
