From PC World: It’s about to get much easier to spot AI-generated text, with Anthropic announcing that invisible AI watermarks will soon be added to all Claude-created content.
The new policy, which is mandated by the European Union’s AI Act, will apply to any text or files that were created or otherwise touched by Claude, including computer code, company reports, or cover letters to potential employers.
In a recently published support page, Anthropic says that new Claude models launched in the EU on or after August 2, 2026 will support adding watermarks to the content they create or edit, and that it’s working to add watermarking abilities to previously launched Claude models.
