Did AVerMedia Core Go GC313 successfully combine the functionalities of a powerful wall charger and a docking station with the ability to connect to external displays? As a charger, it can charge up to three devices at once, which is very convenient if you are packing a lot of devices. The charger was able to deliver wattage as promised at 91.2% efficiency according to my tests. For the docking functionalities, both the peripheral connection to the USB Type-A port and the external display connection through the HDMI port worked perfectly. The display connection was as smooth and consistent as the 4K 60Hz passthrough will allow, while the peripherals worked as if it was directly connected to the device. Should a bug be discovered in the future that interferes with these functionalities, a firmware update can be downloaded onto the Core Go through the Assist Central Pro software. When it comes to traveling, the Core Go is great for on-the-go use due to its compact size, reasonable weight, universal AC input, and included adapters for UK and EU wall outlets in addition to the default US plug. AVerMedia has armed the charger with many circuit protections as well. Temperature should also not be much of an issue due to the GaN transistors being quite efficient. A key area of improvement would be to include support for PPS with PD 3.0, since there are many wall chargers with similar charging capabilities that have it. For about $90 at press time, you are paying a premium for the extra features the Core Go offers. If you value those features, then this could be a good pick for you. Overall, the AVerMedia Core Go GC313 is indeed a powerful wall charger and successfully integrates the extra docking functionalities it was designed to have.
