For the majority of my life, I have always been a laptop gamer. I did not build my first desktop PC until I was in the third year of university. One of the downsides of gaming laptops is the lack of mechanical switches, so I never really cared for the sound of keyboards. Although the first keyboard I bought for my PC was a mechanical gaming keyboard, it did not contain any materials to modify the sound. The typing sound, by my current standards, is horrible. However, the old me only had laptops for reference, so I thought they were pretty good. Fast forward a few more years, I was trained to do my first review on this site, which was the MechLands AULA F99 Pro. This is a keyboard that intentionally includes many layers of materials to produce a refined typing sound. I have always been decently loud with my typing, but after using this keyboard, it only incentivized me to be louder. My setup is in the living room, so sometimes my typing can be an annoyance to those around me. For the sake of those around me, I could benefit from a quiet keyboard like the be quiet! Light Mount Silent Linear. be quiet! states "silence is key" for this keyboard, but will these keys actually be quiet? Read on to find out!

Our review unit of the be quiet! Light Mount Silent Linear traveled all the way from Ontario, California, United States, to our location in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, through UPS Standard shipping. This product was also shipped alongside the be quiet! Dark Mount Silent Tactile. The cardboard packaging may have a few dents and cracks, but the contents were in excellent condition.

The be quiet! Light Mount Silent Linear packaging is very minimalist and stealthy, which is a common design theme used by be quiet!. At the top right corner, the be quiet! logo is printed. At the center, there is an image of the product with the "LIGHT MOUNT" name printed where the wrist rest would be. On all four sides of the box, the logo and product name can be found. On the back side of the box, there are the specifications and other marketing information.
