be quiet! Pure Loop 2 FX 240mm Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

With the second revision in the Pure Loop family, the be quiet! Pure Loop 2 FX 240mm is yet another solid closed-loop cooler, now augmented with small but appreciable updates. When we get into the weeds of changes, you will see that be quiet! has made sensible improvements while keeping its iconic elements. On a build standpoint, the be quiet! Pure Loop 2 FX is built well in its material choices and consistency. Elements like the decoupled water pump and accessible fill port are both still here and offer the same benefits of a quieter and easier to maintain operation, respectively. The updates we see here include making the pump PWM-controlled, which allows for a more granular control of its operating speed. Furthermore, we now have the addressable RGB lighting on both the water block and the included fans. These Light Wings 120mm fans operate relatively quietly while still moving sufficient air. This fact can be observed in its performance, which showed the Pure Loop 2 FX was more than capable of keeping our CPU cool under full load. The whole unit was also pretty quiet and improved from the original Pure Loop 240mm. Installing the Pure Loop 2 FX is a logical and smooth process, which is something I am glad to see. Finally, I am glad for all the additional accessories we have with this cooler, including a bottle of extra coolant and a combination fan and lighting hub. There is really not much to complain about, although one minor ask would be to see a backplate that better secures the bolts. At the time of the review, the be quiet! Pure Loop 2 FX 240mm has a retail price of $130, but this month's anniversary sale reduces this down to $100. At its non-sale price, this cooler is not cheap, but I think the updates over the original make the Pure Loop 2 FX 240mm a viable option. If you are looking for a clean looking cooler now with some extra rainbow elements, then the be quiet! Pure Loop 2 FX 240mm is a great choice.
