Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO V2 Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

Just like WebMD says to just lower your stress, the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO V2 should just keep your CPU cool, be quiet, and have good build quality as well, right? If things were that simple, we would not have to review any products. Well, how did the Hyper 212 EVO V2 perform as a CPU cooler nine years after we reviewed the original Hyper 212 EVO? Starting with the packaging, the box design was nice and recognizable to the rest of Cooler Master’s products with its black and purple box. The packaging was nice and compact, using a plastic mold to keep the cooler in place was very well done with a nice tight fit. The build quality was good for a budget cooler, but it could be improved upon by having a thicker top fin as well as a nickel-plated base for better longevity, although both of these suggestions will add to the price. The installation process was fairly simple and improved compared to the first edition and allows for use with both AMD and Intel CPUs. The installation manual was quite handy in aiding the installation on either CPU. When talking about the performance, the Hyper 212 EVO V2 did well for a cooler of the size and especially for the price given that this is a budget cooler. The noise was very reasonable thanks to the performance SickleFlow 120 fan. At a price of about $40 USD, this is a great deal, although the ARCTIC Freezer A13 X delivered similar performance at an even lower price. That said, if you are looking for a quiet cooler on a budget with a performance stock fan, the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO V2 is definitely a great option.
