Cooler Master SickleFlow 120 Series Review

Back in grade 10, when I was entering a new school, there were a lot of people who I did not know in my classes. I started to learn about some of the people that sat around me, but I did not know them too well. As such, I wanted to make a cool first impression with all of them. During one of the classes, I was trying to listen to my teacher when suddenly a fly appeared. It was flying around my face, so I started to swat it with my hand. With my excellent hand-eye coordination, I struck the side of my face while also missing the fly completely. Looking around, I saw one girl just stare at me and then proceed to stifle a laugh. That impression seemed to be the one that stuck, as she wrote about this in my yearbook at the end of the year. Of course, I now realize that I cared a bit too much about what others thought about me. Instead, I have learned over time to stop worrying about another person's opinion of me and rather just laugh at myself when I make these sorts of mistakes. In addition, calling someone "cool" or leaving a good first impression can be subjective to each person. On the other hand, a computer can be both subjectively and objectively cool. One objective way to keep your system cool is to add some additional fans to your build. Today we have several fans from the Cooler Master SickleFlow 120 lineup. What sort of things have been improved over the original SickleFlow lineup, and does it achieve this coolness? I guess we will find out soon enough, so let us dive right in!

Today's units from the Cooler Master SickleFlow 120 series lineup arrived from Cooler Master's offices in Brea, California. Traveling with FedEx and their Ground service, this corrugated cardboard box arrived in decent condition with no issues to speak of in terms of package quality. In addition to these fans, we received quite a few other Cooler Master products, including the MM831, the MWE 650 White V2 650W , and the MasterLiquid ML240L V2 RGB. Otherwise, Cooler Master also packaged some packing paper with these products to prevent any damage or dents to the items inside.

As you can see from the photo above, Cooler Master has sent us a whole lot of different products, but all of them follow the same design language when it comes to their retail container. The typical colors of Cooler Master are shown here with the slate gray and purple combination. As for our fans, the SickleFlow 120 lineup has the fan on the front with the product name on the bottom left, while the top shows the manufacturer logo and tagline. Around each box, we have several primary features specific to each fan.

Before we continue on, I have grabbed the specifications for each fan for your perusal:

Each of the Cooler Master SickleFlow 120 fans come in an individual plastic tray in the retail container. In each tray, you have the fan and some mounting screws. Some additional pins and a plastic bracket are included with the ARGB and RGB versions of the SickleFlow 120. Otherwise, there is no documentation included with the fans, though this is not too surprising. Just for your information, Cooler Master includes two years of warranty with each fan, which is pretty typical.
