Cooler Master MM710 Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

When I look at the MM710 and see what Cooler Master has done with their first ultralight mouse, I have to say I am impressed. From the start, this product has all the signs to be a lightweight pointer. Its perforated shell lets Cooler Master remove as much additional plastic without sacrificing on build quality. The Ultraweave cable at the top is quite flexible, light, and does not drag or catch like a traditional rubber or braided cable would. You may be lamenting the lack of flashy LEDs, but in the spirit of weight cutting, this is as expected. Inside, the Omron switches provide good tactile feedback, making clicks satisfying. When we pair this design with a top sensor like the Pixart PMW3389, the result is an exceptional performance mouse that feels responsive and predictable. In our tests, the mouse was easy to grip onto and the feet underneath glided smoothly. The Ultraweave cable also aided in the light feel. Finally, the MasterPlus software, while it is not fully finished yet, is easy to work with. Just like the rest of the mouse, the software may not be the flashiest of products, but it works as designed. Even with all these praises, some things that may detract users from acquiring this mouse include its smaller size, which may not fit well for users with larger hands. Furthermore, the weight shedding design does make cleaning a bit more difficult, especially as dust can get inside. At launch, Cooler Master has pegged the MM710 to release with a $50 USD price tag, which is competitive and comparable to other gaming mice. Its lighter specifications may draw initial attention, but the bread and butter of the MM710 is its amazing performance combined with the right design attributes to do so. If you are looking for a smaller, lighter mouse to enjoy your favorite games, the Cooler Master MM710 is the one to beat.
