Corsair Gaming HS70 Wireless Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

In the introduction, we asked if we would be fooled by the exterior of the HS70 Wireless, and in some ways, we have. To say this headset is a completely new one would not be true, but to say it is the same is also wrong too. What is right to say is that Corsair has carried the same high quality from their previous headsets like the HS60 Surround, and added a big feature in low-latency wireless functionality. As expected then, the Corsair Gaming HS70 Wireless is a solidly built headset with a clean design. Layout of buttons and inputs are quite intuitive, though it helps that it is a shared layout across their other headsets. With features like dedicated volume control, microphone mute, and removable microphone, I think these are the standard things that all users want to see. Adding this with the software experience in the CUE utility unlocks a few more functions you may find useful too. As for performance, I think the Corsair Gaming HS70 Wireless does a nice job at this price point in its category. It may not blow anyone away for anything spectacular in one area, but its intention for gamers is clear. With a V-shaped sound signature, the headset makes for an immersive experience while being wireless. Its battery life and wireless capabilities are also quite good. There are still areas to improve upon, especially if users want to use this for music listening, but I think the sound quality is acceptable for its current use case. Otherwise, there are the same things I wish Corsair would tweak, including a higher resistant volume wheel and a bit plushier ear cups. I also would not mind to see a slightly longer endurance for battery life. At a retail price of $90 USD at launch, this wireless headset is definitely one of the lower costs ones. However, it definitely brings a lot to the table in making it a compelling choice for a capable wireless headset.
