Corsair iCUE QL120 RGB Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

After our tests and inspections, it is clear Corsair took a bigger focus on its looks with the iCUE QL120 RGB fans. As we have already highlighted many times, this fan is packed with lights, so it is no surprise we have a really amazing display when we first plugged in the fans. Even without the lights, Corsair has made the QL120 into a very solid air mover. Its plastic frame is sturdy and looks good. Chrome accents contrast with the translucent blade and black outer shell to make for a fan that stands out from other fans. Other positive physical attributes include the rubber pads on each corner to reduce any fan vibration during operation. Obviously, we cannot talk about the design without mentioning the light show that accompanies these fans, as it is an eye-catcher. It is implemented with many different lighting modes to let users personalize their own cooling setup. In addition, the result is bright, even, and vibrant. When it comes to its performance, the QL120 RGB fans have solid hydraulic bearings to aid in both longevity and quiet operation. The end result is a decent performing fan that offers a good amount of airflow. It may not win awards for its ability to move air, but it is still better than some other RGB fans we have seen. If there were some improvements to make, I would have liked to see some braided cables on these fans. I also would have liked to see a bit less of a proprietary plug and system used for controlling the lights. At press release, the Corsair iCUE QL120 RGB comes as a single fan for $45 USD or a three pack with the controller for $140 USD. While this may not be a wallet-friendly purchase, you are definitely paying for the appearances, which does not disappoint here. If you are willing to pony up a bit more to get some pretty fans, the Corsair iCUE QL120 RGB may be just the right choice for you.
