Corsair Katar Elite Wireless Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

How did the Corsair Katar Elite Wireless stack up? Like the Katar PRO XT, this mouse does not reinvent the wheel, but did provide high performance and good battery life thanks to the powerful Corsair Marksman sensor inside with low jitter, high precision, 2000Hz polling rate, and up to 26,000 DPI sensitivity -- even if not many people would use a mouse at that level. All the buttons are easy to reach without accidentally clicking any of them. The Omron switches themselves are great to press, feeling very crisp and responsive. The mouse is solidly built, being very easy to grip with the molded texturing on the side. The mouse is very light at 69g, weighing even less than the wired Katar PRO XT, which was already a lightweight mouse. Using it with Corsair's excellent iCUE software allows for a variety of unique customizations from button mappings to lighting effects. One complaint I have is it still looks and grips like a generic office mouse. As such, the Corsair Katar Wireless Elite is probably too small for people who prefer a palm grip, so if this is how you hold your mouse, you may have to look elsewhere. At a retail price of $80 as of press time, this mouse is definitely on the pricier side considering the budget roots, where the Katar PRO XT and Katar PRO Wireless can be found at $35 and $40, respectively, even though the Katar Elite Wireless packs significantly more powerful hardware inside. Even so, I could not deny I had a good time using this mouse to play various games or even just for productivity. The Corsair Katar Elite Wireless will provide solid performance for those looking for a new gaming mouse if you do not mind its originally budget shell.
