The MAKR 75 is Corsair’s entry to the world of custom keyboards, starting with a 75% layout. The MAKR 75 utilizes a metal frame that comes in either silver or black that they call Carbon. The LEDs were quite good, offering great lighting potential with excellent software in the form of iCUE to back it up. If you do not like installing software for your keyboard, Corsair Web Hub is an excellent web tool that you can use as an alternative to customize the MAKR 75. Because the MAKR 75 is a custom keyboard in nature, there are several options to pick from, leading to several possibilities when it comes to the result. Being able to pick your plate and switches is great, and the option of having a Wireless Module and LED Screen add to the adventure for anyone who enjoys tinkering. In terms of the switches, all of the options provide an adequate experience, and all come factory lubed. This is definitely a fun board to take apart and play with. The build quality of the frame itself is quite good, but when it comes to some smaller components such as the top badge, it is quite fragile. When it comes to the internal structure, the MAKR 75 uses a gasket design, which is good in theory. The issue with the MAKR 75’s gaskets is that there is not enough room inside of the keyboard, making it feel quite stiff, invalidating the point of the gasket mount. At a price ranging from $270 to $560 USD, this can definitely be a pricey option. The Corsair MAKR 75 has the advantage of availability and customization, but it is up to you to decide if that price point is worth it compared to other custom keyboard options on the market today.
