About Crystal Disk Mark

- Measure Sequential and Random Performance (Read/Write/Mix)
- Peak/Real World Performance Profile

From: Developer's Page

Moving on, Crystal Disk Mark 8.0 is our next benchmark. For a bit of background information, higher capacity drives tend to perform a little better in these tests. The ability of a controller and flash memory to deliver high IOPS will provide huge benefits to the score as well.

Crucial has made maximum claims of 6000MB/s write and 7100MB/s read for the P310 2280 2TB. We normally see these peaks through Crystal Disk Mark, and from our results, you can see our unit comes close. In the sequential 8-queue results, the Crucial P310 2TB peaked at 6229.83MB/s write and 6964.75MB/s read. This was the third fastest in writing and fourth fastest in reading for the five drives compared. The sequential single queue results were again average, ranking in the middle for both writing and reading. In the random 4K, 32-queue test, its write and read performance were the slowest. Moving to the random 4K, single queue test, the P310 2280 2TB with heatsink provided the second fastest write, but the slowest read. You can make other comparisons from the graphs above.
