Page 10 - Conclusion
The Crucial P510 1TB mainstream performance DRAM-less SSD on the latest PCIe 5.0 interface is rated for a whopping 11000MB/s read and 9500MB/s write. These impressive numbers were simply unheard of before PCIe 5.0, but how much of this actually translated to real world performance? Without a doubt, the Crucial P510 1TB delivered truly impressive linear read and write performance. We were able to achieve the specified numbers in our benchmarks, which meant it shattered everything that was on the PCIe 4.0 interface. However, The P510's medium workload and real world simulation performance was no better than PCIe 4.0-based NVMe drives. This means while the PCIe 5.0 interface will allow you to hit peak linear read and write speeds like you have never seen before, for most daily tasks, the P510 is the same as the previous generation. Specific to this drive, due to the combination of controller, DRAM-less design, and memory chips, we actually experienced surprisingly low numbers in small file transfer sizes -- in some cases, almost half of the mainstream performance models compared. That aside, thanks to the Micron G9 276-layer triple-level cells, the Crucial P510 1TB features great 600TBW write endurance. It even comes with a 5-year warranty. For about $100 at press time, the Crucial P510 1TB is a well-priced mainstream performance SSD that delivers super high linear read and write speeds on the latest PCIe 5.0-based NVMe interface at a great price.

Since April 30, 2007, Number Ratings have been dropped for all CPUs, motherboards, RAM, SSD/HDDs, and graphics cards. This is to ensure the most appropriate ratings are reflected without the inherent limits of using numbers. Everything else will continue using the Number Rating System.
