Page 10 - Overclocking and Conclusion

Before we close off today, I tried to see how much the Crucial Pro Overclocking CL32 DDR5-6400 2x16GB can actually overclock. There is not much room to move at stock latencies of 32-40-40-103, since the Micron D8HKZ ICs are already at their limit for speed and latencies. This made me curious though. Micron currently does not make any chips that go above DDR5-6400, but what if I gave the D8HKZ latencies similar to acclaimed SK hynix M-die RAM like the XPG Lancer CUDIMM RGB DDR5-8400 2x24GB at 40-52-52-130? As you can see from the screenshot above, the results were impressive. My specific sample did not seem to like 1.40V, but running it at 1.35V produced a 1.4GHz increase over stock to DDR5-7800, Prime95 stable. It crashed at DDR5-8200, and I could not verify its DDR5-8000 stability. Either way, a 22% overclock is nonetheless very impressive. As far as the comparison charts are concerned, the Crucial Pro Overclocking CL32 DDR5-6400 2x16GB paired with my Intel Core Ultra 7 265K delivered solid performance for its class. I also like its low profile heatspreaders and lifetime warranty should anything go wrong, just like other Crucial memory products. Do keep in mind these are not CUDIMMs, so there is no clock driver used to regenerate the clock cycle for improve stability at higher frequencies. For about $175 at press time, the Crucial Pro Overclocking CL32 DDR5-6400 2x16GB is a memory kit that delivers competitive performance and impressive overclocking potential.
