About AIDA64 Engineer

AIDA64 Engineer has a hardware detection engine unrivaled in its class. It provides detailed information about installed software and offers diagnostic functions and support for overclocking. As it is monitoring sensors in real time, it can gather accurate voltage, temperature and fan speed readings, while its diagnostic functions help detect and prevent hardware issues. It also offers a couple of benchmarks for measuring the performance of individual hardware components or the whole system. It is compatible with all 32-bit and 64-bit Windows editions, including Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016.

As with all our portable disk reviews, I would just like to make it clear from the start that we are, by no means, expecting the compared USB flash drives on the list to deliver performance competitive with the Crucial X6 2TB external solid state drive. However, our AIDA64 results do provide interesting insight to the performance of the Crucial X6 2TB as a USB 3.1 Gen 2 storage device. Delivering up to 509.9MB/s sequential read, 504.2MB/s random read, and 501.3MB/s buffered read, this is about what we expect for a Serial ATA-based device. It was marginally slower than the LaCie Mobile SSD 500GB, but obviously no match for NVMe-based devices like the Crucial X8 and LaCie Rugged SSD. Its 0.09 ms random access time is what you would expect from a USB solid state drive as well. So far, for 2TB of USB 3.1 Gen 2 budget storage, this is within expectations.
