DeepCool AK400 Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

Did the DeepCool AK400 prove to be a solid cooler? Starting with performance, the AK400 did an adequate job at cooling my AMD Ryzen 5600X CPU. The load thermals proved it was capable of matching the ARCTIC Freezer A35 A-RGB and came within a degree of the SilverStone Hydrogon D120 ARGB, both having been proven to be effective air coolers. The noise level was also acceptable, with the AK400 producing a reasonable amount at full load. The cooler itself is also solidly built. The matte black cover at the top of the heatsink helps give the AK400 a clean look and provides a nice contrast to the silver color of the aluminum material. The DeepCool AK400 is also very reasonable in its weight as a single tower cooler. The installation process was very simple with no issues at any point in the process. I do wish the bags were labeled to more clearly separate the Intel and AMD tools. This is a minor criticism though, as the manual does show the specific tools to use for each compatible CPU socket. I also wish it came with a tube of thermal paste rather than having it pre-applied, but this is a reasonable cost-saving measure for something of this price. Overall, the DeepCool AK400 is a solid budget cooler with decent overall performance and solid build quality. At a retail price of $35, this is one of the cheaper coolers we have reviewed. While other air coolers like the ARCTIC Freezer A35 A-RGB and SilverStone Hydrogon D120 ARGB have better overall performance for a more expensive price, the DeepCool AK400 provides a good option for those looking to build on a budget while also expecting perfectly acceptable performance.
