DeepCool LT720 Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

Did the DeepCool LT720 stand out as a technical twin to the LS720? To start with, the LT720 is solidly built with a clean matte black radiator and nice smooth water block contact base surface. The ARGB LED lighting on the water block looks great, with the infinity mirror being a cool visual touch. The liquid cooler performed solidly on our tests both during idle and under load. I appreciate DeepCool using standard 4-pin PWM headers for the fans as opposed to the unique headers that were seen on the LS720. Installing the cooler was a very simple process thanks to the included instruction manual, which gave clear step-by-step instructions for all CPU sockets. In terms of room for improvement, I wish the pump header had been a 4-pin PWM header rather than a 3-pin voltage header, so users could have better control over the pump speed, but thankfully the pump noise is still reasonable at any speed. As one might expect, the extra 120mm fan does add to the noise of the cooler compared to 240mm models, although DeepCool has kept it quite reasonable in day-to-day usage and you know what you are getting yourself into when you get a 360mm unit. For a retail price of about $140, this is the same price as DeepCool's own LS720 and about $20 more expensive than the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 280 A-RGB, which is a similar performing liquid cooler with better noise output and ARGB LED fans. In my review of the LS720, I gave the edge to the LS720 over the Liquid Freezer II 280 A-RGB due to its similar performance and thinner radiator, which made it easier to fit inside my case. Because the LT720 and LS720 had very similar performance and built in almost the exact same way, I also would give the LT720 the edge over the Liquid Freezer II 280 A-RGB. The biggest difference between the LT720 and LS720 is the lack of RGB LED lighting on the LT720 radiator fans, which is not a negative by any means. If you are looking for an AIO with solid performance and a little less RGB LED lighting, than the DeepCool LT720 is the cooler for you.
