About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Following up next is our usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is an often-quoted benchmark, because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers. ATTO uses easily compressible data, so compression-heavy controllers will perform very well here. As manufacturer peak read and write performance ratings are usually achieved using ATTO, whether a drive lives up to its marketing claims or not can be validated by this program. Gigabyte claims the UD PRO's maximum read and write are pinned at 530MB/s and 500MB/s, respectively. According to our tests, these numbers were slightly underrated. It peaked at 565.789MB/s read and 521.233MB/s write. In terms of ramp-up, the Gigabyte UD PRO was a bit slower to peak than other drives, especially at the lower end of the packet sizes. The write results were somewhat similar to the Kingston UV500 M2 edition, though with a slower ramp-up at the beginning. Meanwhile, the UD PRO's read curve was mixed with the Kingston UV500, which meant for a slower ramp than the OCZ Trion 150 or the Kingston UV400. The read curve was similar in ramp-up to the Crucial BX300 and MX500.
