Kingston FURY Renegade RGB DDR5-6000 2x16GB Review (Page 10 of 10)

Page 10 - Overclocking and Conclusion

Is the Kingston FURY Renegade RGB DDR5-6000 2x16GB something we can trust for quality and performance? Judging by all our benchmark results, I can at least quantitatively answer the part about performance: Yes. When it comes to overclocking, we were able to take it up an extra 200MHz to DDR5-6200, Prime95 stable, at stock voltage and latencies. Loosening the timings did not change its overclocking potential, and since the FURY Renegade RGB already runs at 1.35V, we just left it at that. This represented a 3.33% increase in speed compared to stock, which is not much, but you are not likely to gain much in performance on current generation CPUs even if you up the clock anyway. Interestingly, this is the exact same overclock my colleague Jonah got with the Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5-6000 2x16GB, and we only checked his results after we finished our overclocking session. Speaking of the FURY Renegade DDR5-6000 2x16GB, that kit retails for about $185 at press time, while the FURY Renegade RGB DDR5-6000 2x16GB we are reviewing today commands only a $5 premium. I think coughing up an extra $5 for RGB LEDs is a no-brainer even if you are not a big fan of them, because as it always goes, you can turn off RGB LEDs you do not use, but you cannot turn on RGB LEDs you do not have. Compared to the competition, the Patriot Viper Venom RGB DDR5-6200 2x16GB can be had for $175 when this review is written, which is $15 cheaper with a little bit more speed. Both Kingston and Patriot are quality manufacturers, but if you prefer the FURY Renegade's aesthetics as well as the brand, this is a kit you cannot go wrong with. And as always, it is backed by Kingston's lifetime warranty.

Since April 30, 2007, Number Ratings have been dropped for all CPUs, motherboards, RAM, SSD/HDDs, and graphics cards. This is to ensure the most appropriate ratings are reflected without the inherent limits of using numbers. Everything else will continue using the Number Rating System.

The Kingston FURY Renegade RGB DDR5-6000 2x16GB is a solid set of DDR5 memory that delivers in both performance and quality, now with RGB LEDs.
