Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB Review (Page 10 of 10)

Page 10 - Conclusion

In the introduction of this review, we have set out to find out whether or not the Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB still worthy of its name. At this point, I have realized how stupid this question was, because I don't think it was even the right thing to ask in the first place. The Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB is simply one of the fastest solid state drives we have ever tested here at APH Networks, and I was definitely not expecting this. Just look at the benchmarks -- the HyperX 3K blew most of the competition out of the water. It is true that often times, if the economic incentive is strong enough, people will be willing to take extra effort and make compromises in their purchases. But with almost no real life compromises, and sure-as-heck speed, what can I say? Sure, the NAND flash used has moved down a notch from premium Intel ICs rated at 5000 program/erase cycles in the HyperX to regular 3000 units in the HyperX 3K, but SandForce's excellent wear leveling algorithm has proven that cells with 'only' 3000 program/erase cycles will still outlast the usable lifespan of the drive even under moderate to heavy usage. Continuing Kingston's legacy of attractive looking, well built products and an impressive bundle at a lower price point than before, this package the truly the real deal. Without question, the HyperX 3K 240GB is one of the best solid state drives in the market today in looks, in price, and in performance.

APH:Renewal Award
Since April 30, 2007, Number Ratings have been dropped for all CPUs, motherboards, RAM, SSD/HDDs, and graphics cards. This is to ensure the most appropriate ratings are reflected without the inherent limits of using numbers. Everything else will continue using the Number Rating System.

This is the Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB is truly the real deal. With the price lowered and no sacrificed performance, what more can you ask?
