About ATTO Disk Benchmark
The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Our next set of tests are the usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is an often-quoted benchmark because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers and I have grown to embrace it as much as the next for the last little while. ATTO uses easily compressible data, so compression-heavy controllers will perform very well here.
The Lexar PLAY 2280 4TB hit peak speeds of 5940MB/s write and 6610MB/s read. These numbers were average, but failed to reach the quoted write or read speeds of 6500MB/s and 7400MB/s, respectively. Under the write curves, the PLAY 2280 4TB was relatively fast to reach its peak speeds, generally surpassing other drives in packets of 32KB or less. The PLAY 2280 4TB was able to plateau near its peak write at 64KB, although it only reached its peak at 4MB transfer sizes. In read curves, we have slightly similar behavior, although other drives were more evenly matched with the Lexar PLAY 2280. From 32KB to 512KB, the Lexar PLAY 2280 was slower to reach its maximum speed, although this is behavior that can be observed across all our drives. It reached near its peak speed at 512KB and peaked at 4MB packets. Overall, this was a middle-of-the-road performer.
