About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Following up next is our usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is one of my favorite benchmarks for quite a while. Ever since we have started using it in my network attached storage reviews many years ago, it has been integral to our battery of storage performance evaluations here at APH Networks mainly due to its accuracy and thorough testing in accordance to varying transfer sizes. As you can see in our graphs above, the Lexar Professional SL100 Pro 500GB's read performance and write performance were both extremely fast; peaking at 1022.611MB/s for read and 914.378MB/s for write. The tested read and write figures were both faster than the advertised speed. I found it interesting the Lexar did not reach maximum speed until 512K for write and topped out only in the end for read. This is mostly unconventional for a NVMe-based external SSD. Under the curve, the Lexar Professional SL100 Pro 500GB was also consistently slower than the NVMe-based Crucial X8 1TB and LaCie Rugged SSD 1TB by a measurable margin. If you do not count peak speed, its ramp up speed was even slower than the SATA-based LaCie Mobile SSD 500GB.
