The Lexar Professional SL100 Pro 500GB continued to deliver decent numbers in our Crystal Disk Mark sequential read and write results. Once again, it was in the upper echelon of drives, but this is to be expected given there is an NVMe SSD inside. Its sequential read and write results generally reflect what we have seen in the past two pages. At 934.9MB/s sequential read and 826.9MB/s sequential write, it was a bit below the advertised numbers this time around, but it was not far off. As we move into the 4KiB Q8T8, 4KiB Q32T1, and Q1T1 territories, which require high input/output operations per second or IOPS, the Lexar Professional SL100 Pro 500GB continued to blow all the other tested USB flash drives out of the water and remained mostly competitive with the Crucial X8 1TB in the write tests. Unfortunately, it was not that great in the read tests against the Crucial X8 1TB and was completely dominated by the LaCie Rugged SSD 1TB in all 4KiB Q8T8, 4KiB Q32T1, and Q1T1 numbers. Traditionally, this has always been a weak point for USB flash drives and a strong point for solid state drives, as we can see here.
