About HD Tune Pro 5.70

HD Tune Pro is a hard disk / SSD utility with many functions. It can be used to measure the drive's performance, scan for errors, check the health status (S.M.A.R.T.), securely erase all data and much more.

Unfortunately, HD Tune does not generate any fancy independent graph outputs in particular, so I just took a screenshot of the program. The Netac ZX20L 512GB's throughput remained very flat on average. While HD Tune is more of a drag race than a clear indication of real-life performance, it is an excellent storage performance reference among SSDs with the same controller. The results were good across the range and the recorded access time was low, as we would expect from a solid state drive.

The ZX20L 512GB posted an average of 430.3MB/s for its sequential read speed. This was very slow for a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 portable SSD in 2025. Drives that are in the same class include the Crucial X10 Pro 2TB at 604.1MB/s, Western Digital Black P50 Game Drive SSD 1TB at 588.7MB/s, Lexar SL660 BLAZE 1TB at 622.1MB/s, and ADATA Elite SE880 1TB at 608.5MB/s. At the end of the day, HD Tune may not be the best test for solid state drives all the time, but these results are always interesting to look at.
