About PCMark Vantage

PCMark Vantage is a PC benchmark suite designed for Windows Vista offering one-click simplicity for casual users and detailed, professional grade testing for industry, press and enthusiasts.

A PCMark score is a measure of your computer’s performance across a variety of common tasks such as viewing and editing photos, video, music and other media, gaming, communications, productivity and security.

From desktops and laptops to workstations and gaming rigs, by comparing your PCMark Vantage score with other similar systems you can find the hardware and software bottlenecks that stop you getting more from your PC.

Last, but not least, is the PCMark Vantage benchmark, which gives us a mix of real-life performance of computer hardware by partially synthetic methods. Looking at the nine graphs, you can see there are a lot of numbers, so I will not regurgitate these results for you readers. Instead, I will point out a few surprises to be found here. First and foremost, the overall score is actually quite high for the OCZ ARC 100 240GB. Ranking sixth out of a total of twenty four drives and configurations, this is actually a pretty good place to be. Scrolling through the tests also reveals the OCZ ARC 100 is actually the fastest for the Photo Import, and second in the Gaming tests. There are other tests where the OCZ ARC 100 240GB does not perform as well as its brothers the Vertex 460 or the Vector 150, but considering it is a budget SSD, this drive seems to do quite well in the PCMark Vantage.
