About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

After the first test, it would be easy to think this Patriot USB stick will walk over all of the competition. However, our results from ATTO Disk Benchmark seem to prove otherwise. ATTO Disk Benchmark is one of our favorites in terms of testing anything from SSDs to network attached storage systems; this has seen its share of everything. This is also the first test in our set which tests the write results, and the numbers are revealing. While Patriot has lived up to its claims of closing in on 400MB/s for read, the write numbers seem quite overestimated. As you can see, the Patriot Supersonic Rage 2 256GB maxes out at 35.227MB/s write, and 337.751MB/s read. While the read numbers are very impressive, and once again the fastest results out of all our tested USB drives, the write performance is mediocre. This puts the Rage 2 slightly behind the recently reviewed Kingston HyperX Fury 64GB, but faster than the Patriot Stellar 64GB, and is the second slowest USB 3.0 flash stick. It is possible this benchmark does not behave nicely with this drive in particular, but this does not bode well for the Patriot Supersonic Rage 2.
