Patriot Pyro 120GB Review (Page 5 of 10)

Page 5 - Benchmark: Crystal Disk Mark

About Crystal Disk Mark

- Measure sequential reads/writes speed
- Measure random 512KB, 4KB, 4KB (Queue Depth=32) reads/writes speed
- Select test data (Random, 0Fill, 1Fill)

Up next is Crystal Disk Mark 3.0. As our benchmarks progresses on, it seems to me that Crystal Disk Mark favors drives of higher capacity (Or rather, drives with more storage perform better in this program). This is a rather surprising result, so I have rerun the tests quite a few times to ensure the results were accurate. Indeed they were. While the magnitude of difference is not very high in the first three graphs (The Patriot Pyro 120GB is actually slightly ahead of the Agility 3 240GB in 4K Read), the performance gap became is surprisingly large in the numbers corresponding to the 4K QD32 benchmark. It is important to note that I have checked results for the Agility 3 120GB against the Pyro 120GB, and the results were very similar -- so it is not like the Pyro in this review is inherently bad.
