The SCUF Omega controller is very similar to the regular PS5 controller, as you might expect. I personally find there to be some elements of the Switch Pro controller in terms of the shaping. The controller extends a little lower towards the center for its G-keys. Taking a look at the core components, the layout is the same as the standard PS5 controller with a few add-ons. The primary buttons are black with white accents, and the sticks have a slight design texture. The rest of the primary buttons are fairly standard buttons that use a matte appearance to contrast against the glossy main buttons. The core separation between the Omega and the regular PS5 controller are the side action and inner paddle buttons. The smoke design is very similar to the Switch Pro controller, being very clean and techy. I really like the texture on the bottom, as it adds quite a bit of grip on the controller. SCUF places a bit of branding on the left side of the controller.
In terms of the dimensions, the SCUF Omega is 164mm in width, 64mm in height, and 115mm in depth. Compared to the regular PS5 controller, the Omega is a little bulkier with a shorter handle. In terms of weight, the Omega is a lighter controller compared to the original, coming in at 254g. This is about 20g lighter in comparison. The lighter weight is not that noticeable, as the Omega still feels quite premium in the hand.
Moving onto the buttons and triggers at the front, they feel really good. Rather than the typical rubber domes used in many other controllers, the SCUF Omega uses Omron mechanical switches. This makes for a snappier feeling. There are people who mod their controllers to use mechanical switches, so this is a great thing to have out of the box. These primary buttons exhibit a slight wobble, but it is surprisingly not bad when you consider that the buttons are being held on by magnets. These magnets are used so the user can easily replace the button faces that SCUF sells. As of right now, it does not seem like they offer each component individually, but you can order a personalized controller on SCUF’s website.
The two thumbsticks offer a nice grippy surface, and it is quite nice they offer different thumbstick surfaces to adjust to your preference. The movement of the thumbstick is quite smooth and durable, being TMR thumbsticks. For those who do not know, TMR thumbsticks is the evolution of Hall effect thumbsticks that uses contactless magnets to measure change in electrical resistance. This leaves the user with zero stick drift, and it is also energy efficient.

On the back, we have the shoulder and trigger buttons that also have a nice grippy texture. I appreciate the slight and minimal design, as it serves as a double purpose of grip and aesthetics. The buttons are marked with L1/L2 and R1/R2, where 1 is the button and 2 is the trigger. L1 and R1 both use Omron switches as well. L2 and R2 can be set to be a standard analog or to an instant trigger with the same switches. You can swap between modes through the switch underneath. This is one of the more unique features the controller provides that produces the most significant edge over other players.
The center has a USB Type-C input to plug in and charge or connect directly to your system. The included cable is 2m long, which should be satisfactory in most cases, as most people will be using this controller wirelessly with its Bluetooth or 2.4GHz interfaces. The SCUF Omega polls at 1000Hz over the 2.4GHz connection with the included 2.4GHz USB dongle.

Something that stands out when you look at the SCUF Omega are the G-keys. G2 through G4 are preprogrammed to be volume down, mute/unmute, and volume up, in that respective order. Those three G-keys can only be remapped to actions related to audio. G1 and G5 have access to the full array of actions. I personally do not know what you would use these buttons for anything other than audio tools, but I am sure there is someone quirky enough to do so. Beneath the G-keys, we have a single 3.5mm combination audio jack to plug in your headset. It is important to note that the audio controls on the controller only apply to the audio device plugged into the controller. On Windows, it will simply display what the current volume is.

As with many third-party controllers, the SCUF Omega has some additional buttons and features to provide the user with more control. Aside from the G-keys on the front, there are additional paddle buttons on the bottom labeled P1 through P4. These buttons are also mechanical switches, having a nice solid feel to them. We also have buttons on the side labeled S1 and S2. These buttons are similar to the paddle buttons. They are meant to be remapped to another single action on the controller. I do appreciate these sets of paddles, as this is something found on a lot of premium controllers. I really appreciate that there are additional replacement buttons that will cover the button from usage if you do not want them. P1 and P4 cannot be removed, but they are harder to accidentally press in my experience.

In terms of the software, we have the SCUF App that can be downloaded onto your phone via Google Play or Apple App Store. This app is required if you want to do any remapping on this controller.
Starting off with some general calibration, you can adjust how aggressive you want the triggers to be. Different profiles can be set if you want to tune your SCUF Omega for specific games you play. Thumbsticks can also be adjusted in this way to fit different gaming profiles. Lastly, lighting can be adjusted to eight different lighting effects. This is a very minor feature, as there is a very small light bar on the front of the controller, but it is nonetheless appreciated.
Moving onto the part that really matters in gaining a competitive edge, you can remap every single button on the controller to pretty much anything you would like. As previously mentioned, this does not include G2 to G4, as those buttons are preset to be exclusively for audio. Button remaps include action, D-pad, bumpers, triggers, thumbstick, or menu buttons for general performance. Additionally, you can map keyboard keys to the controller. If you are very prone to rage quitting a game on PC, you can map Alt + F4 too. Lastly, you can bind more audio buttons such as output volume up and down, mute, and to lower or raise your microphone input.
