Thermaltake ARGENT M5 Wireless RGB Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

From an engineering perspective, there is a lot to like about the Thermaltake ARGENT M5 Wireless RGB. It is a wireless mouse that balances between high gaming performance and battery lifetime per charge. In terms of gaming performance, the ARGENT M5 Wireless RGB uses high quality and good performance parts like Omron switches and the PixArt PMW3335 optical sensor. The mouse allows the user to configure different settings and store them in the mouse's onboard memory. To save power, there is a power saving mode that can turn off RGB LEDs and wireless communications when it is not moved. The result is a product that can deliver up to 36 hours of battery life with lighting or 100 hours with LEDs turned off over the proprietary 2.4GHz wireless interface, and up to 52 hours with lighting or 200 hours without over Bluetooth. As for the overall design and style, this gaming mouse is also pretty nice in my opinion. It even has an aluminum scroll wheel that gives it a premium look and feel. What the ARGENT M5 Wireless RGB can be improved on is the texture of the gripping area on both sides. I would prefer it to have some rubberized texture to increase the grip. In this case, I found the hard plastic just feels too slippery. It is also a bit heavy for a mouse in 2021. Including a paracord cable will also be welcomed, although with the great battery life, you probably will not be using it too much. The retail price of the ARGENT M5 Wireless RGB is about $100 USD at press time, which is the same as the ASUS ROG Keris Wireless, another wireless mouse that features the same sensor. This is no economy mouse, but if you really want a wireless gaming mouse that has good battery life, the ARGENT M5 Wireless RGB is one worth considering.
