Thermaltake Riing Trio 12 RGB White Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

Did the Riing Trio 12 RGB White reaffirm Thermaltake's ability to create strong cooling products? To start with, the fan is solidly built with smooth hydraulic bearings. The white color scheme gives the fan a clean and polished look, even without the RGB LED lighting. The rubber dampening pads around each mounting hole are always nice to have. The performance demonstrated by the Riing Trio 12 RGB White was acceptable. The fans proved to be very quiet at maximum speed, which does mean the maximum airflow and static air pressure output is limited, but it is acceptable as a case fan. The RGB LED lighting is simply stunning thanks to the thirty RGB LEDs placed around the ring loop and the central fan hub. The Thermaltake TT RGB Plus software is easy to use and very intuitive, which enhanced my usage experience. The twenty-three different adjustable lighting settings on the TT RGB Plus software add a nice level of customization, with all the different lighting modes looking great. I also appreciate the different fan speed controls, especially the PWM control mode that allows you to adjust the RPM in detailed steps. All of this is possible through the included Thermaltake controller, which is a great piece of hardware that works smoothly with the TT RGB Plus software for customizing both the rotation speed and RGB lighting of any connected Riing Trio 12 RGB White fans. In terms of areas of improvement, I wish Thermaltake used universal headers for powering the fan and lighting, since it ties users to this particular controller at all times. I also want these fans to work with the newer version of TT RGB Plus. At a retail price of $140 for a set of three fans and the controller, this is definitely on the pricey side. However, for the solid build quality, captivating RGB lighting, decent performance, and configurability, I think this set is worth buying if you have some money and are looking to bling out your build.
