Crystal Disk Mark 3.0 is in the spotlight. Just a bit of background information; higher capacity drives tend to perform a little better in these tests. The ability of a controller and flash memory to deliver high IOPS will provide huge benefits to the score as well. The Toshiba OCZ VX500 512GB is rated at 92,000 IOPS read and 64,000 IOPS write. Looking at the results, the Toshiba OCZ VX500 512GB performed reasonably well. It took the lead in the sequential read tests against the Vertex 460 and Vector 180, although it fell behind quite a bit in the write portion. The same went for the 512K section. Looking at the 4K results, it handily beat out the two older OCZ SSDs, although it was less competitive in the read aspect. In the 4K QD32 benchmarks, once again, the VX500 bested both the Vertex 460 and Vector 180 by various margins in the read test, but fell behind in the write test. I will let you make your own comparisons in our massive list of SSDs in the graphs above.
