About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Following up next are our usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is an often-quoted benchmark because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers, and I have grown to embrace it as much as the next for the last little while. ATTO uses easily compressible data, so compression-heavy controllers will perform very well here. As far as the InnoGrit RainierQ IG5220 controller on the Atom 50 is concerned, well, here are our results. It peaked at 4700MB/s read and 4550MB/s write. Under the curve, it was interesting because the Crucial P5 Plus 1TB, another budget drive, was faster than the XPG Atom 50 1TB across the board for write. That said, the Atom 50 remained not too far behind at 1K and above, which is most of the curve. In the read test, the Atom 50 remained competitive for its class up to 256K. Above 256K, the P5 Plus -- along with every other PCIe 4.0-based SSD -- pulled significantly ahead as their peak read speeds were realized. Overall, the XPG Atom 50 1TB's performance was good for the price bracket it is in, especially compared to previous generation drives, thanks to the fast PCIe 4.0 interface.
