YUNZII B87 Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

YUNZII calls the B87 their cutest keyboard, but there are more reasons than just appearance to justify its appeal. It accomplishes a pretty look with its overall design, but I appreciate the attention to details and commitment to this style in the keycaps, rounded shell, and soft touch finish. I also like the included palm rest that matches with the rest of the B87. The board includes favorable features like PBT keycaps, hot-swappable mechanical switches, full N-key rollover, and RGB LED backlighting. It offers both wired and wireless operation, which is handy. Its wireless mode uses a 4000mAh battery and can provide up to nine days of mixed use with the lighting on before needing to recharge the keyboard. Under the keycaps, the lubricated YUNZII Milk V2 switches offer a smooth linear feel. The overall typing experience is a bit clacky, but it does not sound cheap or hollow. The multiple layers underneath the switches make for a solid feel overall, as the audible feedback is more up to your preference. Better yet, the YUNZII B87 works with open-source firmware like QMK and VIA. If there is any possible deterrent for the YUNZII B87, it is the fact the charming aesthetic means the keyboard is more difficult to take apart for modification. However, given the cushioning and damping layers inside, it still is a solid option in stock configuration. At the time of the review, the YUNZII B87 can be found as low as $75, depending on your chosen color. If you are looking for a colorful, pretty, and unique tenkeyless keyboard, the YUNZII B87 should be taken into consideration.
