About a week ago, my friends and I went to the Final Fantasy Orchestra, and I had a surprisingly good time for quite literally being made to go. I originally did not intend to go, as I had very little interest given I had only played a few Final Fantasy games. I thought I would not know much about what was played. In some regards, I was right, but when a song I did know started playing, it was slightly surreal. The familiarity mixed with anticipation created an experience that I had never really felt before. Just the thought of, "I really hope X song is played" or having a song you did not expect but loved to be played was amazing. It was a trip now memory lane filled with good memories and excitement. On that note, I did think it was really good, but I do not think I would go to another event like this despite it being a great experience. I find that this is how I am with custom keyboards as well, as I personally believe I have found my endgame and do not want to tamper with the hobby again until now. Today, we have the MAKR 75, a custom keyboard made by Corsair. Will the MAKR 75 remind me of the joys of building keyboards again? Keep reading to find out!
Our review unit of the Corsair MAKR 75 came alongside several of its other components. The box was shipped to us here in Calgary, Alberta from Taoyuan City, Taiwan via DHL Express Worldwide. The shipping process was quite good, with minimal marks on the edges of the retail box. I was not worried about the condition of the product itself, as there was no noticeable damage.
The Corsair MAKR 75’s box design is aesthetically pleasing, using a nice large black box with some simple white text. The front displays the Corsair logo alongside a slogan for the MAKR 75, “Meet your MAKR”. As this is the packaging for all of the components, there is no extra information on the box. The MAKR is a customizable keyboard with many potential options to pick from. This is a straightforward retail box design that offers very minimal information. Personally, I do not mind this, as I appreciate the lack of clutter and simplicity.
In terms of each box, I found that all of them shared the Corsair identity having the black, white, and yellow design and featuring the product on the center, Corsair logo on the top left, MAKR logo on the top right, and product name on the bottom left. There is also additional information on the back of the box and the side of the MAKR 75 barebones kit box as well. We were also sent over a cable by DROP, a company Corsair has acquired, which features a black-and-white design with the logo on the top left, product name on the bottom right, and the cable itself in the center behind a layer of plastic. We will take a closer look at the components on the next page.

Out of the box, you will receive the Corsair MAKR 75 itself in a barebones or assembled form based on what you have decided when ordering. Other items include a cable, switch puller, extra gaskets, extra screws, tools, and a user manual. Because this is a customizable keyboard, what you receive will vary based on your order, but ours came with an FR4 plate, Wireless Module, LCD Module, Case, and a large variety of switches. The keyboard is wrapped in a non-woven polypropylene bag, while its accessories were placed in cardboard. I was satisfied when it came to the packaging. The quality of the packaging is quite standard for many other manufacturers.
