ADATA DashDrive HV620 1TB Review (Page 8 of 8)

Page 8 - Conclusion

Some people say beauty is beyond logic. But to refer back to my colleague Devin of whom I have quoted in my UEBO M400 review back in November 2011, "Looks are what that gets it started, but personality is what that keeps it going." In the midst of the ADATA DashDrive HV620 1TB's unquestionable beauty, can I still make a logical conclusion that is more than just skin deep? In the UEBO M400 review, I said if I were to walk into a store, and see the UEBO M400 selling for $150, I probably would have bought it on the spot, because it looked so good. Unfortunately, it would have been a big mistake, because after spending a few weeks with it, many flaws were revealed on the software side; greatly affecting the overall experience. When it comes to the ADATA DashDrive HV620 1TB, if I were to walk into a store, and see it selling for $70, I probably would have bought it on the spot. Unlike the M400, however, it would have been the right choice. Like many of ADATA's products, the DashDrive HV620 is a product that combines slick looks with great performance. Posting strong performance numbers across the board for a 2.5" mechanical hard disk on USB 3.0, along with a very competitive price at many major online retailers at press time, it is hard to argue against it. The only complaint I have is its good looking but fingerprint magnet and scratch happy surface. Even with its raised edge lip design, the protection is limited at best; tiny swirl marks and micro scratches are prone to happen as soon as you open the box. At the end of the day, if you can stand a bit of imperfections on a beautiful piece of hardware, search no further than the ADATA DashDrive HV620 1TB USB 3.0 external hard drive. It has the performance to match its looks.
