Cooler Master MasterAccessory MP860 Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

When it comes to flexibility, cloth mousepads definitely take the cake. As I discussed in the introduction, in small areas, hard mousepads are much harder to use -- no pun intended -- since they are not flexible enough to adapt to the environment. Cloth entirely solves this issue, but of course is harder to clean. There are other benefits and disadvantages to both mediums, but at least in my use the flexibility of cloth is a big plus. The Cooler Master MasterAccessory MP860 does not exactly keep this benefit from the cloth side, but it keeps the other advantages of cloth. However, let us start right at the beginning. The MP860 is well built with its hard plastic construction. The LEDs look great and are bright. They are also placed in the perfect position to be in the middle no matter which side you use. The cable is braided and long enough for many applications. Cooler Master has definitely constructed a sturdy mousepad. The MP860 is medium sized, but on lower sensitivities it is easy to catch the edges, especially on the cloth side where there is a fairly large cutout. Otherwise, both the aluminum side and the cloth side provide benefits in speed and control. The aluminum side is louder than the cloth side, but not by much. The software is effective, intuitive, and I did not experience any bugs or glitches throughout use. Integrating the LEDs of the mousepad with other Cooler Master products is great too. When it comes to price, the Cooler Master MasterAccessory MP860 comes in at $70 USD, which is quite pricey for a mousepad. However, you are paying for the RGB LEDs and the choice of two different surfaces. Compared to other RGB mousepads, the MP860 is still a bit more expensive than our previously reviewed ones. Overall, the Cooler Master MasterAccessory MP860 is a good mousepad other than a slight design oversight, but you definitely pay for aesthetics.
