About HD Tune Pro 5.70

HD Tune Pro is a hard disk / SSD utility with many functions. It can be used to measure the drive's performance, scan for errors, check the health status (S.M.A.R.T.), securely erase all data and much more.

Unfortunately, HD Tune does not generate any fancy independent graph outputs in particular, so I just took a screenshot of the program. The Crucial X10 Pro 2TB's throughput remained very flat on average. While HD Tune is more of a drag race than a clear indication of real-life performance, it is an excellent storage performance reference among SSDs with the same controller. The results were good across the range and the recorded access time was low, as we would expect from a solid state drive.

The X10 Pro 2TB posted an average of 604.1MB/s for its sequential read speed, which was almost twice as high as the Crucial X8 1TB at 327.5MB/s. This figure also significantly exceeded the LaCie Rugged SSD 1TB's 367.3MB/s result. Drives that are in the same ballpark include the Western Digital Black P50 Game Drive SSD 1TB at 588.7MB/s, Lexar SL660 BLAZE 1TB at 622.1MB/s, and ADATA Elite SE880 1TB at 608.5MB/s. At the end of the day, HD Tune may not be the best test for solid state drives all the time, but these results are always interesting to look at.
