ATTO is an often quoted benchmark because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers, and I've grown to embrace it as much as the next since my last few reviews. If you look at the curves above, I have included a traditional hard disk drive as a base reference. But the stuff of real interest is how the SSDs performed. Fundamentally, both Sandforce SF-1222 based 25nm IC SSDs performed very close to the 34nm OCZ Vertex 2 in our graphs above. The magnitude and shape of the curve is almost identical between all three contestants.
