Gigabyte G1 Gaming GeForce GTX 960 4GB Review (Page 7 of 13)

Page 7 - Benchmark: Crysis 3

Crysis 3, as its name suggests, is the third installment in the Crysis game series. Based on the CryEngine 3 game engine, it was released on February 19, 2013. This is a DirectX 11 game utilizes some of the latest features of CryEngine 3, such as improved shadows and lighting, vegetation and fog effects, as well as dynamic mapping. Just like the original Crysis, Crysis 3 is particularly tough on PC hardware, especially when you want to have all the effects enabled. With everything maxed out at 1920x1200 and adjusting only AA and AF, the trio of mainstream cards did have a bit of trouble keeping up, whereas the GTX 970 did just fine. Overclocking the GPU and VRAM does not do a whole lot in this game; both the Gigabyte G1 Gaming GeForce GTX 960 4GB and G1 Gaming GeForce GTX 970 4GB had marginal improvements over its stock configured counterparts. Interestingly, the GTX 960 delivered almost identical performance as the GTX 760.
