While in many tests PCMark05 is a multithreaded benchmarking application, scores are dependent on more than just the CPU -- including the set of benchmarks designed specifically to test CPU performance. In PCMark05, the Core 2 Extreme was roughly 50% faster than the E7200, 5.9% faster in the Graphics tests, and resulted in a performance advantage of 27.7% in the Overall score over the E7200.
