About HD Tune Pro 5.70

HD Tune Pro is a hard disk / SSD utility with many functions. It can be used to measure the drive's performance, scan for errors, check the health status (S.M.A.R.T.), securely erase all data and much more.

HD Tune provides simple and straightforward results, although not in a report sheet format. A screenshot of the results is given instead. As you can see, the Kingston XS1000 2TB has immensely consistent throughput with how straight that line is.

The Kingston XS1000 2TB had an average read speed of 609.4 MB/s, which is better than what the Crucial X10 Pro scored at 604.1 MB/s. Some of the other drives performing in this range include the Western Digital Black P50 Game Drive SSD 1TB at 588.7MB/s, Lexar SL660 BLAZE 1TB at 622.1MB/s, and ADATA Elite SE880 1TB at 608.5MB/s. The Kingston XS1000 really held its own against these drives, although this result shows HD Tune is not necessarily the best way to evaluate external SSDs.
