ROCCAT Kone Pro Air Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

We have been told prior to receiving the Kone Pro Air that this will be the best mouse I have ever owned. Given I have had the excellent SteelSeries Rival 650 Wireless sitting on my desk for a couple of years now, and I found myself going back to it not long after being briefly unseated by the Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro last year, the Kone Pro Air has big shoes to fill. But I will tell you this: ROCCAT's latest creation in the featherweight wireless mouse category is no doubt a tremendous success. The mouse is super light, especially for a wireless model, at 75g. And this is done with practically no compromises. The Kone Pro Air has an ergonomic shape for a comfortable fit. The materials used for the shell grip well and feel nice. The lightweight aluminum Titan Wheel Pro is great to use. Underneath the buttons, the Titan Switch Optical gives great actuation response. I am also a fan of the PixArt PAW3370 sensor, which delivers excellent performance overall. You can even store five user profiles on the mouse itself. If you think a lightweight wireless mouse with a high-performance sensor will mean poor battery life, then you would be wrong. The ROCCAT Kone Pro Air can go for weeks rather than hours or days in normal usage before the need to be recharged. And should you need to recharge it, it has a 2021-appropriate USB Type-C port to do so. Needless to say, I am impressed. There are a couple of things I would like to see improved on. First, include a paracord cable. Second, ROCCAT Swarm still has not changed since forever, and some of the features and RGB LED lighting effects are either hard to use or outdated compared to the competition. For about $130 at press time, this is an expensive pointing device. But if you are looking for a mouse that is unlike anything you have used in the past -- in a good way -- I have to say the ROCCAT Kone Pro Air really is the best mouse I have ever owned so far.
