SYBA HyperDuo SY-PEX40052 (Page 7 of 7)

Page 7 - Conclusion

Whether you like watching movies, dramas, or the recorded opening of the London 2012 Olympics, more ports means you can accommodate more hard drives, which usually translates to the ability to have more storage capacity, meaning, well... more of everything that you like to watch. For a mere $25 at press time, you can get the SYBA HyperDuo SY-PEX40052 for two extra SATA ports for those disks of yours. And with the results from our tests, the SYBA HyperDuo will definitely provide sufficient read and write performance for most HDDs in the market today. With this in mind, I will still make it clear to you that, if your computer is missing SATA 6Gb/s ports right now, don't go out and buy this controller expecting to get the most out of your SSDs. The fact is, it won't. Your native Intel SATA 3Gb/s ports will be faster. What it is actually designed for is for those who are out of SATA ports, and require extra storage space beyond what your motherboard can natively support. The way I see it, more ports mean more drives, and you'll get more time to sit back and enjoy your time in front of your TV. If you still see these speeds as slow, you can always enjoy another show while all that data gets processed and transferred. Movies? Check. Drama? Check. Disk space? Check. SATA ports? Check, thanks to the SYBA HyperDuo SY-PEX40052. Now, if you would excuse me, I have many episodes of TV shows to catch up on, as well as throwing a movie party night...
