Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX can be seen as the older sibling of the Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAX by having similarities, but being distinctly unique. The general shape and functionality are quite similar, but the Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX is the better built headset. It is also an improved version of the Stealth 700 Gen 2 with even better battery life and compatibility. The plastic and steel build are quite good, and I have no issues regarding its durability. The headband can be adjusted to fit comfortably. The cushioning all around felt nice and soft, never causing me any discomfort. The headset was ready to go right out of the box. I had no issues with any setup and all operations were simple. As well, its battery life well exceeded the quoted time from the manufacturer, which is great to see. As for the audio quality, the Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX was adequate across the board, having a boosted mid-bass and treble. The audio balance was characteristic for gaming scenarios. Understanding enemy positions from sound was quite easy, but when it comes to music there were notable flaws, especially when it came to soundstaging and layering. The biggest issue I found was with the microphone. The microphone captured me with a nasally and condensed quality, which was rather unfortunate. The quality itself is on par with many other headsets, but the condensed nature left me sounding quite artificial. At the price of $200 USD for the Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX, this is definitely a more premium-priced product. The quality and specifications of the Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX are fitting for this price bracket, but there are still sound quality and recording issues that could be worked. Overall, the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX is a fairly comfortable and decent sounding gaming headset that can be used on many platforms.
